In the modern auction hall of Visveiling Urk, the auction is projected onto two screens. One displays the auction clock, while the other shows the weighing information system. This setup allows for far more information to be shown than with a traditional clock. Another benefit is that the positions of the clock and the weighing information system can be swapped, making the entire setup less prone to technical issues.
In addition to the current lot, the auction clock displays the next six lots of fish and the five previously sold lots. This enables traders to easily maintain an overview of prices. The web-based auction network is linked to the administrative network, ensuring that traders’ transactions are processed almost immediately and can be accessed online.
Each buyer has a keyboard with a display. Buyers can select the desired number of kilograms per unit or crate, without the intervention of the auctioneer,. On the display, they can view and print their own transactions, or request information about their credit.
They can also request a loading list containing relevant purchase data. Each workstation is equipped with two data connections, for example to connect a laptop.
Every buyer in the auction hall of Visveiling Urk has their own seat. In practice, this means that 50 to 60 buyers take their seats.
In the event of a power outage, a generator located behind the building provides emergency power, ensuring that every auction can continue without interruption.
